This is a sturdy and well made cutter. It's the first one I've ever owned and here's my observation: a lot of people complain that it doesn't work. Well, it works best when the angel food cake is freshly baked and cooled. Let the cake sit for a day and the outside becomes leathery tough and nothing will cut it well. You can cut your fresh cake all at once and reassemble it, or freeze any cake that won't be eaten immediately. I assume the cutter will work well on a cake with icing, but I've not tried that yet so I can't say. Anyway, this still works a lot better than a knife.
