Overall I really like this case. It's sturdy and has lots of pockets, but it's not too big.

I do suggest getting blade sleeves of some kind, making sure they do not pull off easily when you grasp the knives to slide them out.



One caveat:

When you get it, double-check the elastic on the pockets and the sewing. My first one had one serious defect so that one knife pocket's elastic top edge was so tight, you could not get anything out of it without risking ripping something. For me, that meant that when you pulled the knife out, by the 3rd or so time, the place where one side of that pocket was attached to the back ripped, creating a hole in the back fabric. Luckily, I discovered this before I used any of the knives in the kit, so I was able to exchange the whole kit for a new one. I double-checked all of the pockets of the replacement before accepting it.



I'm crafty, but I would not try to fix that kind of a defect in sewing/construction myself. You want the pocket tops to be securely attached to the case to keep the sharp things from flopping around. That's just too difficult to fix after the whole thing has been sewn shut and without an industrial-strength sewing machine.
